Club vs. Club Knockout Competition Coming this Summer to PIBC

Summer Indoor Competition at Pacific Indoor Bowls Club

Introducing TOP SIX Club-vs-Club Competition at PIBC

This summer, the air-conditioned Pacific Indoor Bowls Club (PIBC) is introducing indoor summer bowling and we would like your club to compete in the inaugural indoor TOP SIX competition. It is a straight knock-out competition like the V&D Top Ten*, but unlike the Top Ten which has teams of ten, the Top Six will have teams of just six (at least 2 of each gender). Team members do NOT need to be a member of PIBC.

  • 6-member mixed gender team must belong to the same outdoor club.

  • All games are on the neutral carpet at PIBC, 10:00am on a Wednesday morning.

  • Teams play one game of Singles, one Pairs game and one Triples game.

  • With six rinks available at PIBC, four clubs can compete at the same time.

  • Winner of 2 of the 3 disciplines advance to the next round. Losers are eliminated.

  • There is no limit on how many teams can enter from one club, but no interchange of players between teams is allowed.

Entry Fee: $30 per team ($5 per player) for every round you play (entry fee is capped at $90 even if you play four rounds). Prize Money: Approximately 70% of entry fees will go to prizes.

The competition needs 8 teams to proceed. Depending on the number of entries, the tentative dates (all Wednesdays) are June 18, June 25, July 9, July 30 and the final on September 3. Deadline for entry is June 11.

*Unlike Top Ten, the entry for Top Six does NOT need to be made through your club. Bowlers can put together their own ‘closed’ team of six and enter.

Please contact me if you are interested in entering a team. I encourage teams to come up with a fun team name, like the Kerrisdale Eagles, the Stanley Park Blue Herons, that kind of thing.

CONDITIONS OF PLAY TBA
