PIBC Practice Rules

Players are reminded that they need to sign in, and out of, the logbook for all practice sessions they attend and to print their names clearly.
Practicing is not allowed during league play until all games on the same side of green (rinks 1-3 or 4-6) have concluded.
Under normal circumstances, priority is not given to make-up games.
1. Time Limited Practice Sessions for Practice Outside of League Schedule

Session 1: 7:30am-9:30am

Session 2: 10am-12:15pm (only when there is no league play)

Session 3: 12:30pm-2:45pm (only when there is no league play)

Session 4: 3:00pm-5:15pm

Session 5: 5:00pm-6:45pm

Session 6: 7:00pm-9:15pm (only when there is no league play)
2. Transition Between Sessions (between leagues or practices)

The convenor or monitor will ring the bell at the end of the session. DO NOT ring the bell if you are not the convenor or monitor for that session.

Players may complete the end they are playing, but all players must be off the green prior to the beginning of the next session. For example, the bell would ring at 12:15 to end session 2 and players could complete the end they were playing but would need to be off the green by 12:30.

Members who wish to continue practicing must WAIT FOR 15 MINUTES after the session START TIME to allow new arrivals to find a rink to practice on. If space allows, bowlers can then resume their practice on any rink that is not being used by the new arrivals

Members who joined a Practice Session while it was in progress are considered to have practiced in that session—regardless of the amount of time they practiced—and must leave the green and wait 15 minutes before resuming practice, if space allows

Members arriving near the session end who want to practice in the next session MUST WAIT by sitting on the chairs next session start time
3. Maximum Players per Rink is 8
4. Assigning Rinks

Members arriving after the session start time can request the help of the monitor on duty if they need assistance in joining a rink

Players on non-booked rinks need to comply with the monitor on duty if they are asked to share a rink
5. Booked Rinks

Only players who are named on the rink booking can play on the booked rink

Members who have booked rinks must arrive no later than 15 mins after the session start time to claim their booking

Rinks that have not been booked during a practice session are available for other members’ use
6. Practice During the League Schedule Period
Tuesday 12:30pm Draw/Practice Session:

Rinks 4 to 6 are reserved for a self-organized draw

After the draw session is completed, the rinks revert to practice rinks

Rinks 1 to 3 can be used for practice from 12:30pm - 2:45pm
Members who violate the above practice rules may be subject to disciplinary action by the Executive Committee.
